Default profiles
Configuring a default profile allows you to automatically set a Membership Type and Membership Status for any new profile created via your website, for example, when a non-member registers for an event or purchases something via the online shop.
Think of default profiles as prospective members, allocating a Membership Type and Membership Status will control how they interact with your association and how you can report on them.
Create a default membership type
When creating the default Membership Type think about what information you may want to collect and what level of access you want the user to have on your website.
Create a new Membership Type that will be used as the default for any new profiles.
On the Configuration tab, switch on auto-approve on join.
Set the Status Triggers, if you want the user to be able to login and access their information then set all triggers to Active.
On the Display Fields, check the relevant fields options for information you wish to collect.
Configure the access level on the Permissions tab. For example, if you want the user to be able to edit their own profile and download invoices you will need to enable Membership Privileges.
Click Save Membership Type.
Set the new profile defaults
Go to Config & Settings > Profiles > Misc Settings
Â
Select the Membership Type and Membership Status.
Â
Click Save Settings.
IMPORTANT: If you set the Membership Status for the Default Profile to Active then those users will be able to access member only pages on your site. You can exclude the Default Profiles from accessing restricted content by locking the pages so only specific Membership Types can access them.
