Video tutorial: Registering for an event
When a member or other user of your site wishes to register for an event they can do so via the event listing in the Events Calendar.
On the Events Calendar listing there will be a button to go directly to the event registration or a read more about the event.
When they click Register they will be asked to select if it is a group or single registration.
They will then be asked to enter their email address.
If the email address entered is already recorded on a profile in your database they see a message on the screen advising this. If the email address is not recognised, they will be asked to enter their details and a profile will be created.
Next they will see the registration screen. What they see here will depend on how the event has been set up, if multiple registration types and workshops have been created, they will select those here.
After completing the registration details they will be taken to the payment screen to finalise their registration.

Duplicate Event Registration Alert
Membes AMS automatically checks for existing registrations using the attendee's email address. If a duplicate registration is detected for the same event, a warning message is displayed to help prevent duplicate attendee records.
How It Works
A user opens an event registration form.
They enter an email address.
As the email address is validated, Membes AMS checks whether it has already been used to register for the same event.
If a matching registration is found, a yellow warning banner is displayed to alert the user that a registration already exists for that event using the same email address.
The user can review the warning and decide whether to proceed or cancel the registration.
Warning Banner
Yellow Duplicate Registration Warning
If the same email address has already been registered for the current event, a yellow warning banner is displayed advising that a duplicate registration may be created if they continue. This warning is intended to help prevent accidental duplicate registrations, but it does not prevent the registration from being submitted. If the user chooses to proceed, a second registration for the same event can still be created.
Green Banner
The green banner is displayed as standard during registration and informs the user that if the email address already belongs to an existing profile, the registration will be linked to that profile rather than creating a new one.
A profile with this email address exists in our system. This registration will be made against this Profile.
On submission of this registration, an email will be sent to__(email address)___confirming that details on record are correct, with instructions on updating these details if required.
Note: This warning is advisory only and is designed to help event administrators identify potential duplicate registrations before submission.
