Community Builder
The Community Builder is designed to bring your members together and provide a place to discuss industry trends and network with like-minded professionals. The seamless integration with Membes AMS utilises single sign-on so your members can access the Community Builder effortlessly from their membership portal.
Set up Community Builder
Complete the sign up form for Community Builder, the Membes Support team will contact you to arrange the setup of your new Community Builder.
While you’re waiting to hear from the Support team, have a think about the following:
The subdomain where you’d like to host your Community Builder
Who your Community Builder administrators will be
What Channels you want to create
Navigating Community Builder
Now that your new Community Builder is set up and ready to use, here’s what you will on the screen.
Channels list - click on a Channel to see only posts for that Channel
Post filters - you can choose from:
All Posts - see a list of all submitted posts, the post with the most recent activity will be displayed first
My Posts - see only posts you’ve submitted
My Starred - see the posts you’ve starred so you can follow the discussion
Trending Tags - this is the list of recent tags that have been added to posts, click on a tag to view all related posts
All Posts will display the list of posts using your Channels, Filters and Trending Tags selections.
New Post - click the button to create a new post

Create channels
Community Builder administrators can create different Channels for posts to be added to.
Click on your name in the top-right corner of the screen.
Click on Community to switch into Administration mode.
Administration mode displays the list of Users by default, click on Channels to display the Channels list.
Click Add New to create a new Channel.
Enter the Channel Name and Description, then click Create Channel.
Create badges
Community Builder administrators can create Badges that can be applied to Users.
Click on your name in the top-right corner of the screen.
Click on Community to switch into Administration mode.
Administration mode displays the list of Users by default, click on Badges to display the Badges list.
Click Add New Badge.
Enter the Badge Name and select a colour, then click Create Badge.
Add a badge to a user
Click on your name in the top-right corner of the screen.
Click on Community to switch into Administration mode.
Find the User in and click on the Manage button to display their user profile.
On the user profile, click Badges.
Check the box for the Badge you wish to add to the User.
How to create a post
Click the New Post button at the top of the screen.
Select whether your post is a Discussion or a Question.
On Question posts, users can vote for the replies they believe to be the best answer to that question
The answers that have received the most votes will display above other replies, and are highlighted green.
Select the Channel your Post should be added to.
Enter the Tile and Details for your Post.
Add Tags to your post by typing in a keyword that applies to your Post’s details.
As you type a list of Tags created by other Users will be displayed, click on any existing Tag options that apply to your Post.
If your Tag is brand new, type the keyword and press enter to turn it into a Tag.
Click Submit Post.
View and reply to posts
Replying to a post
Click the Post Title to open the post view pane, you will see the original Post and any responses.
Click the Reply button and enter your response, you can also add Tags to your response.
Click Post Reply.
Upvote a post
Post Upvoting is used to identify posts about popular topics. Posts with lots of Upvotes will appear at the top of the list of Posts.
Click the Title of the Post to open it.
Click on the arrow icon to Upvote.
Follow a post
When there is a Post about a topic you’re interested in following you can Star the Post to make it easier to come back to later.
Click the Title of the Post to open it.
Click on the Star icon.
You can view all of your Starred Posts by clicking the filter on the left side of the screen.
