Data review
Reviewing your existing data
In preparation for importing your data into the Membes AMS it can be useful to consider the following things:
Data source: Are you working from a single data source or will you need to combine multiple sources into a single CSV file?
Data quality: Is your existing data accurate, complete and up-to-date? Do you need to remove any fields that are no longer required or remove duplicate records?
Standardise formatting: Ensure consistent formatting for names, addresses, and other data elements. Make sure any dates use the DD/MM/YYYY format.
Field mapping: How do the fields in your old system correspond to the fields in the Membes AMS? Do you need to create custom fields?
Ready for import
Once your staging site has been handed over, you will have access to the data migration self-import tool to import a CSV file.
It is recommended you complete a sample import of approximately 20-30 profiles
You can learn more about importing your data in the User Guide. It is critical to ensure your data is formatted appropriately and is in a well formed CSV format.
The self-import tool can only be used for importing profile data. For any other import requirements, please submit a Help Desk ticket to discuss an assisted data migration.
If you think you may require assistance preparing your data to be importing and formatting the CSV file the Membes team can put you in touch with a data specialist.
