Update your DNS for go-live
Congratulations, all the hard work is done!
Now you’re ready to finalise the go-live process and redirect your domain the new website. Please note, a DNS change can take up to 24 hours to take effect.
General instructions as to the required DNS records are provided below however you will be provided with instructions specific to your organisation via the Help Desk ticket submitted notifying Membes of your go-live date.
If you're unsure about managing your DNS records contact your domain registrar's support, each registrar manages DNS settings slightly differently, so they will be able to give specific advice about what you need to do.
IMPORTANT: Please be aware that the Membes team cannot assist you with updating your DNS. If you need assistance to access and update your DNS, we recommend you contact the team at CompleteIS.
Finalise your DNS
Delete the existing A record on your root domain eg. yourdomain.com or membes.com
Delete the existing WWW subdomain record
Change the setup subdomain to WWW eg. change setup.yourdomain.com to www.yourdomain.com
Add a 301 redirect to your root domain and redirect it to the WWW subdomain eg. yourdomain.com will be redirected to www.yourdomain.com
Email deliverability
Whilst this will not affect your site’s go live, we recommend you also add DKIM and SPF records to assist with email deliverability.
You can find the details for these in the User Guide.Â
Notify Membes
When these DNS updates have been completed update your Help Desk ticket to notify Membes so the support team can finalise your system launch.
Now you’re live!
Congratulations on all of your hard work, you’re now live!
Now that you’re live the way you access your site and admin will change slightly as will no longer be using the staging URL that was used during the implementation.
Your username and password remain the same, however access is now be via your organisation's domain. For example:
Website: www.yourdomain.com
Admin: www.yourdomain.com/admin
